Is it true that the Olympic Medals being given to the athletes contain more lead,than precious metals?

  2. I would imagine so. . . why wouldn't they?  They only need to look pretty on the outside, and the medals will hang nice and not feel like toys if they're heavy.

    That would be sort of worth a chuckle if the medals were made in China, wouldn't it?

    i haven't seen anything about lead

    the gold and silver are made of pure siver, with the gold being plated in gold

    the bronze is mostly of bronze with a few other metals included

    Jade is the only new thing being included this year, which is a stone

  5. I was wondering that myself. I figured they weren't all real precious medals, but at the same time, these are GREAT athletes and you would think they would deserve more than a fake medal!
