I've heard it, but I cannot prove it. Arevalat says it did, but before today, I've never heard of Arevalat and have no idea of their accuracy.

There are several groups attempting to ban the artificial sweetener "aspartartame"    It is not illegal yet.  This is the most common sweetener of diet sodas.
