someone told me that they had an old broken down BMW and the government was forced to buy it from them for $500 cause it could roll 30 ft. on a flat surface on it's own power

  2. No, it's not true.  The government doesn't buy cars from individuals.

    CA did have a program that would help to get cars off the road that didn't pass inspections, but it was limited and the cars had to go directly to the crusher.

    Someone was making up stories.

  3. Even that bit about KKKalifornia buying cars because they fail emissions...that program is over now due to the state budget crisis.
