  1. It has been stabilized... it may always fall tomorrow if an earthquate were to hit the area.

  2. Precautions have been taken to prevent that from happening but who knows...something may occur and it may fall some day. Do some research online on the tower, and you can see what's been done over the years to support it and keep it up so far, and what (if any) future plans there are to keep it upright as long as possible.

  3. yes. it probably will

  4. I just returned from Pisa.  The tour guide told us that they have stablized the ground after a major renovation.  You can climb to the top (ticket office is adjacent to the Tower).

So go and visit...it's open now and a great place to build a memory!

  5. It may fall when pushed, but it's stable for the foreseeable future.

  6. Those who answered before me are right: precautions have been taken so that this tower wil not fall.

Works lasted from 1990 to 2001. In fact I went to Pisa in 1994 and the tower was covered by scaffoldings around this base.  After this fase of strengthening ,it is currently undergoing gradual surface restoration to repair corrosion and to whitening it.  Slope has been reduced by counterbalances made in lead (900 tons ) and by temporary steel braces.  slope now is like the one of 200 years ago.

The base has been reinforced so that tourists and visitors can visit the tower that is now safe. According to experts, these works will keep the tower in a status of safety for  the next three centuries. The tower won't fall if precautions are taken. Then The tower MAY fall in 2300 if nobody straighten it again later, but obviously not in 2050!
