  1. It's true to the extent that you can say the United States belongs to the Sioux, Comanche, Kiowa, Apache, Chippewa, Cherokee, Choctaw and others. What's not true is that Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, and Colorado belong to Mexico, although some like to claim that they were stolen from Mexico by the US.

  2. The Aztecs lived around Mexico city (see map, at

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aztec )

The Mayans lived in the Yucatan peninsula, around Cancun,

By the way, 'Yucatan' means 'I don't understand'...That comes from what happened upon first contact, when the Spaniards asked a Mayan man what the country was called, and he answered, 'I don't understand.'

The native peoples of Mexico belong to a large group called Nahautl.  Most Mexicans are descended from Aztecs, Mayans, and other Nahautl people, such as the Zapotecs.

  3. used to and remember the Mayan calendar expires 2012 and is

considered the best ever invented;that says a lot

Mexicans are descendents of these people intermixed w Spanish
