Is it true that the modern day ACs dont make use of CFCs?

  1. Yes.

    CFCs were highly restricted by the "Montreal Protocol", the most successful international agreement in history.

    There are many good substitutes for CFCs in air conditioners.  More here:

  2. Yes it's true. CFC's are no longer being used as refrigerants in air conditioners. Other hydrocarbon alternatives are currently being used instead of choro fluro carbons.

  3. Chloroflurocarbons were replaced by Flurocarbons,and the

    Du Pont Chemical Company financed the banning of CFC's,

    prior to obtaing the patent for Flurocarbons.
