I don't mean like taking lessons or anything. Just trying to sing as best as you can to the radio. Does that make your voice stronger or something?

  1. Mooney,

Sorry but some people are just not meant to sing...outloud in public.  And all the practicing in the world won't help them.  Nothing wrong with singing in the car or somewhere by yourself but singing in public could cause problems.

However, I've always been a free thinker and if it feels good to you, then go ahead and sing.  Just be careful where you do it so you won't offend anyone.

Church is a good place to sing b/c then you're singing from your heart....not your head.

  2. If you do it incorrectly, and you don't realize it, you will only make those bad habits more ingrained and harder to get rid of.

  3. No that is not true.  There are cords in your voice box that if you strain them to much you will never be able to sing.  If you keep on trying and never actually do anything that will help you won't be able to.

The best way would be to talk lessons so they could teach you how to control your voice box.

    It will help

  4. No not really (you get more comfortable and you rang may expand) but the truth is the more you practice with an instructure the better you get...

  5. Not technically. The more you sing in an unprofessional setting, it may actually hurt your voice if you're trying to hit pitches you aren't comfortable with. Doing exercises with your voice can help increase your range, but you can't really change the way your voice naturally sounds. Singing with the radio is fun, but you can't get much done without lessons or some kind of pro.!
