Is it true that the only number that babys know to call when using the phone is 911?

My baby called 911 today for the second time, and the police came and knocked on my door again and now I have the phone on the wall.

only if its the only one you teach them. my son is 2 and doesn't know 911 yet, but my brother used to call it ALL the time when we were kids. tell your kid the boy who cried wolf, and explain that 911 is only for emergencies.

It seems like it! When I was a year old I called 911 three times in a row and the police and firefighters came to my house. My sister's son has done it. My daughter has done it, too.

My son has not called 911 but he knows that if he holds down the 2 on my cell phone he gets his daddy.

I know once when i was cleaning my phone i had taken it off the hook and was wiping the numbers not realizing that I was dialing and i just happen to put the phone to my ear and it was ringing ... well i immediately hung the phone up and briefly wondered if i had dialed 911.  I went about my business and a few minutes later, the phone rang and it was a 911 operator asking me if i needed assistance.  I explained what happened and she said well an officer is on their way over there and to just tell them what happened.  So i hung up and i did receive a knock on the door and an officer had to write this all down.  All because i wanted a clean phone.  So i just think 911 is an easy number to call not that kids or babies actually know it by instinct.  LOL

You don't say how old your baby is?  My boys were taught 911 in pre school and they all called it to see if it really worked.  I didn't get upset the first time, but they were told if they did it again they would have to go to the police station and appologize.  My youngest son called a second time and I followed through on taking him to the police station to appologize.
