  1. In their burger meat ya mean?

    Now I've heard everything!

    LMFAO

P.S. By the way, we use plenty of apostrophes in the French language - don't worry about that!

  2. Only partly true.

There was a time when the Office Quebecois de la Langue Francaise (OQLF) tried to go after fast food chains and stores to force them to use francophone standards. That is one reason why you cannot find any KFC restaurants in Quebec. They are called PFK instead here (Poulet Frit Kentucky).

However, as I understand it, McDonald's copyrighted their name and made it a global trademark. As such, they were able to obtain an exemption. The department store "Simpson's" was not exempt, and their signs had to be changed to "Simpsons" without the apostrophe, before they were bought out by The Hudson's Bay Company, which uses the name "La Baie" here instead of "The Bay".

Can you believe that Quebecers pay over $18 million to fund the OQLF to enforce these rules and prosecute violators, when we could be spending that money to improve education or the roads here in Quebec? Your tax dollars at work.

  3. what ? so not true !!!!
