Only I quite fancy trying a swan burger, only I'm not sure if that counts as treason.

  3. true

  4. Seeing as she owns all the swans, she can do whatever she wants with them.

Like a farmer and his chickens.

But for some reason I cant see our Queen tucking into a "Swan & chips supper"

  5. Only the queen may hunt or have hunted swan...legally.

  6. No it is not true.  But what IS true is that all the swans in the UK are the property of the Queen.

  7. they are a protected species (and they are protected by the queen - although i cant quite imagine her out sneaking around in bushes trying to catch someone killing a swan). it is illegal to kill a swan for any purpose. even outwith UK they are usually a protected species as they were nearly hunted to extinction. although the queen could eat swan, i can hardly imagine her doing so

but in reality, swans are not the gentle birds most view them as, get too close to its cygnets and you'll find that a swan can break a grown mans arm with its wings and can cause a nasty bite

  8. i feel like swan tonight !  the queen can eat anything or anybody she wants because she's the queen

  9. But the local fancy would never have her!

  10. Yes. The Queen is the only person in Britain legally allowed to eat swan. In addition, the Queen still owns the sturgeons, whales and dolphins in the waters around the UK. A statute from 1324, at the time of the reign of King Edward II, states that: "Also the King shall have ... whales and sturgeons taken in the sea or elsewhere within the realm." This statute is still valid today, and sturgeons, porpoises, whales and dolphins are recognised as 'Fishes Royal'. When captured within three miles of UK shores, or washed ashore either dead or alive, they may be claimed on behalf of the Crown. Generally, when brought into port, a sturgeon is sold in the usual way, and the purchaser, as a gesture of loyalty, requests the honour of its being accepted by the Queen.

  11. The Swan is a protected bird, unless the Queen feels peckish.

  12. It is true the Queen is the only one who can kill and eat swans, if you i did this it would count as treason and would face prison,

  13. It's the only way she can keep the numbers down.

  14. Yes.  She's out every morning with an axe and waders.

  15. You would not be allowed to kill a swan without the queens permission.

  16. Yes and stuff it with a Peacock and a Moorhen.

  17. Well they do all belong to her. I think you would be in quite alot of trouble if you ate one of her swans.
