Revenge among people is what I am talking about. This revengeful spirit is like a demon that reproduced through out the country. Think how us filipino's treat each other. It started with the resentment of government corruption. Revenge spreaded down to different levels in our society. For example, The crab mentality and the level of jealousy that runs rampant within families and neighborhoods. Our country will never get better with filipino's governing the country.

Maybe we need U.S. government aids or other sources come teach us how to turn things around. No, never mind, we filipino's love to live with this condition.

Not very smart in my opinion.

  1. When blood is spilled, it is nearly impossible for human kind not to ask for blood in return.   This is true everywhere, but not as stark as here in the Middle East.

The U.S. Government had been promising peace in the region for years, but everyone who tried, a succession of bright boys and girls of the State Department, miserably failed.

Whoever unified the warring feudal kingdoms of China also must have resorted to scorched earth policy (a policy first introduced by the Americans here in the Philippines, I think) and annihilated those who would not toe the line.

But you are quite right.   It might take Outsiders to pacify the planet.   How about Space Invaders by the name of Titans and Gorgons?   You know Gorgons?  One look and people turn to stones.   And Titans...   Well, they are so powerful and huge that when Atlas shrugs, they say there are earthquakes.

Perhaps, the mere threat of being stomped on by Titans can make people lose their thirst for blood.

  2. Being vengeful or wanting to take revenge is a human trait common to ALL nationalities in the world. Vengeance has been known to cause some of the greatest occurances of mankind.

For example, Jesus Christ was crucified for revenge.

It was hate against the Jews that caused the Holocast during the World War-II.  In recent years, some outstanding examples of hate include the Rwanda massacre where Tutsi and Hutu tribes were locked in killing spree that claimed over a million innocent lives in about three months. The 9-11 terror attacks on the US are also an example of recent revenge acts.

Unfortunately, we humans are subtly brainwashed into being vengeful since our childhood. Take for example, a cartoon which all children would have watched sometime: Tom & Jerry. Here, either Tom or Jerry wants to take revenge for some act the other has committed. Similar for other cartoons as well...Bugs Bunny, Road Runner...the list is endless.Parents too teach a child to be vengeful since they want the kid to be strong and not a sop, at the school or playground.

Resentment and jealousy are two different human traits. Yes, in both these cases, revenge can be involved, especially if the affected party finds no fair means to overcome resentment or envy.

I dont think this character is unique to Filipinos only. The degrees of resentment, jealousy, vengeance may be higher among some nationalities than others, but these are global. Maybe you experience it more since you live in the Philippines and those staying elsewhere might have the same to say about their compatriots.

US government to help this situation??? Hahaha...that's not really as smart, as you said it yourself.

Every religion recognizes the terrible impact that vengeance can have. There are specific scriptures in every religious book that preach against such hate or revenge. If people followed their faith with more zeal, they would be able to overcome this vengeful nature.

  3. Feels like you already have it. No pun intended

Revenge sometimes clouds your way of thinking and I respect your opinion but I just don't get why people selling out their own kind, Filipinos to U.S in your argument.  If you don't respect your own (if you are a Filipino) , how would other people respect you when you think little of your or our kind. Yes, we are imperfect but its better than Zimbabwe and at some point there is nothing like Philippines, a one of a kind in the world. Maybe your living in some dysfunctional family or neighborhood to think that revenge, crab mentality or jealousy is rampant but there are some place where people live peacefully. There are just some false arguments or comparison in your statements thats a little shaky even for me to comprehend.

Not a very smart opinion. A simple advise- its an opinion that you should keep at yourself because some finds it offensive if you talk in public about it and if your a foreigner.
