  1. yes according to the maya civilization-they were the on who predicted  this.hopefully its wrong !

  2. I would bet large amounts of money that the world will not end in 2012.  I have a theory:  The person who was writing the Mayan calendar died while he was finishing 2012.  That is why people think the world will end in 2012; because the Mayan calendar does.

  3. -The myan calender ends

-About 20 people had profosies about nearly everything in the world all said the world was going to end then

    (Nostradomous exc.)

-The 9 planets in our solar system line up to the sun togeather

-A lot of major religions and minor ones said this date would be the end of the world

    -Scientists said it was possible

-The worlds already in a bad time with terrorists wars north korea global warming and weather

  4. Nope.

  5. It is true that the world will end by 2012, and really it is a truth one cannot ivade as Bible predicts that the world will end. So does the Mayan calender too ends in 2012 and as already quoted the most accurate calender. And at present the NASA report also supports it. I hereby give u a brief up of the report.

NASA recently published report detailing new magnetism on the Sun that will probably result in Major Solar Changes and destruction of satellite communications, GPS, Air Traffic, and Power Grids.

The report is published on HERE and clearly states that a new Solar Cycle is possible resulting from a knot of magnetism that popped over the sun's eastern limb on Dec. 11th 2007.

The report goes on to mention specific years which major Earthly impact will be seen. The exact quote which mentions these years states

"Many forecasters believe Solar Cycle 24 will be big and intense. Peaking in 2011 or 2012, the cycle to come could have significant impacts on telecommunications, air traffic, power grids and GPS systems. (And don't forget the Northern Lights!) In this age of satellites and cell phones, the next solar cycle could make itself felt as never before."

I find it quite a coincidence that this major happening is forecasted for 2012, as this exact timing correlates to the ancient Mayan prediction of the end of the dimension.

The 2012 (End Of The World) theory has been gaining much popularity the last few years. Some predictions include a great human consciousness awakening, the rise of the anti-christ, alien visitation and attacks, a polar flip, and a great alignment in which the Sun will line up with the center of the galaxy causing massive destruction.

Although we are not sure of the exact events that will transpire, the evidence is becoming clear that something is in store for us Earthlings.

Many people are starting to prepare both physically and mentally for the upcoming changes, but as of now, trustworthy guides on exact preparation plans are scarce. As this situation winds down, and we get closer to the predicted final year, we can only hope more information becomes available to us.

    The report:

Dec. 14, 2007: The solar physics community is abuzz this week. No, there haven't been any great eruptions or solar storms. The source of the excitement is a modest knot of magnetism that popped over the sun's eastern limb on Dec. 11th, pictured below in a pair of images from the orbiting Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO).

It may not look like much, but "this patch of magnetism could be a sign of the next solar cycle," says solar physicist David Hathaway of the Marshall Space Flight Center.

Above: From SOHO, a UV-wavelength image of the sun and a map showing positive (white) and negative (black) magnetic polarities. The new high-latitude active region is magnetically reversed, marking it as a harbinger of a new solar cycle.

For more than a year, the sun has been experiencing a lull in activity, marking the end of Solar Cycle 23, which peaked with many furious storms in 2000--2003. "Solar minimum is upon us," he says.

The big question now is, when will the next solar cycle begin?

    It could be starting now.

"New solar cycles always begin with a high-latitude, reversed polarity sunspot," explains Hathaway. "Reversed polarity " means a sunspot with opposite magnetic polarity compared to sunspots from the previous solar cycle. "High-latitude" refers to the sun's grid of latitude and longitude. Old cycle spots congregate near the sun's equator. New cycle spots appear higher, around 25 or 30 degrees latitude.

The region that appeared on Dec. 11th fits both these criteria. It is high latitude (24 degrees N) and magnetically reversed. Just one problem: There is no sunspot. So far the region is just a bright knot of magnetic fields. If, however, these fields coalesce into a dark sunspot, scientists are ready to announce that Solar Cycle 24 has officially begun.

Below: Solar Cycle 23 is coming to an end. Many forecasters believe Solar Cycle 24 will be big and intense. Peaking in 2011 or 2012, the cycle to come could have significant impacts on telecommunications, air traffic, power grids and GPS systems. (And don't forget the Northern Lights!) In this age of satellites and cell phones, the next solar cycle could make itself felt as never before.

The furious storms won't start right away, however. Solar cycles usually take a few years to build to a frenzy and Cycle 24 will be no exception. "We still have some quiet times ahead," says Hathaway.

Meanwhile, all eyes are on a promising little active region. Will it become the first sunspot of a new solar cycle? Stay tuned for updates from Science@NASA

  6. yes it's true... that's when the Mayan calendar ends and so far it has proven to be the most accurate calendar

  7. I've read something about some lame idea called Planet X but it's highly doubtful.  But to be honest it could end in 2012 or it could even end tomorrow!  Some say that once the atom smasher goes on line things will go wrong and destroy everything.  Best cover yourself and make sure you've accepted Christ.

  8. intresting the world is not going to end in 2012 as u watch walle u will see that the world end at 2032

  9. No it's not true. This speculation has come from the observation that the Mayan calendar ended its cycle at 2012. This is not the end of time by this calendar, but the beginning of a new cycle - this has been misinterpreted for a long time, probably y the same people who think the new super-collider will  suck the world into a black hole.

Many mystics believe that the new cycle  of the calendar will mark an evolution in the consciousness of mankind. Sit back and relax, everything will be "ok".

  10. No, it is just the end of the 'Mayan' calendar, not the end of the world.

It seems a lot of people have the wrong idea about the 'end of the world in 2012'  due to a Mayan calendar. The Mayan culture is very ancient and not what it use to be. How far ahead does someone have to make a calendar?!!!

[ Perhaps the Mayan calendar will end on this date, but I would say not the rest of the world! ]

I would ask any Mayan people, descendants of the original culture who made the calendar that ends in 2012 to make the next installment to ease the minds of those would worry.... and those of us who would think it would be cool!

    ... go Dave!

    [see below]

  11. I remember the last time the planets in the solar system were aligned. People said that gravity would be altered, that the planet would blast open like a rotten cantaloupe, all sort of things. The members of a local cult took refuge on a hill because they thought there was going to be another flood from the disruption of tides.

Needless to say, none of this happened.

Like a first born child, the end off the world won't come on due date.

  12. ..cant wait for tat date to arrive....so tat these questions will no more appear...

    ...the answer is NO....

  13. No, it is not going to end.

  14. Oh yeah it is  but only if you listen to some new age freak show who believes that on the  21st of December 2012 the end will be upon us , something to do with the Aztec or the Mayans !!
