Is it true that there's no such thing as global warming?

During recent years there have been hundreds of stories about icesheets breaking up, glaciers melting, storms of the century, desertification, coral reefs dying and fish spawning grounds drying up, all because of global warming. Now here on Yahoo answers I see that many people are saying that there is no such thing as global warming! That it's all a bunch of liberal propaganda! Now if even these characters (some of whom have more than a sixth grade education) know this, then it must be true. This is great news!

The question reveals a degree of ignorance.  Of course there is warming as well as cooling depending on particular time scales.  The only pertinent question is whether humans are contributing to harmful warming and that question cannot be answered by our current knowledge and technology.  It is an issue that has be grabbed by the left and used for political purposes.  There are the useful idiots out there that think they are saving the planet but they are simply being used by a leftist agenda bent on inserting itself in every aspect of our lives to the tune of trillions of dollars as well as potential loss of  basic freedoms that we take now take for granted.   I could discuss anyone of your presumed proofs and show that they are nonsense but why waste my time.  You believe it because you have faith.

The biggest problem however is that the problem is being misused to shove through limited approaches guaranteed to fail.  None of the global treaties or proposed taxes do anythnig to decrease global CO2 emissions.  All countries must contribute to the solution.

Containing over 1/3 of world population, when the heck are China and India going to agree to invest some reasonable portion of their exploding profits towards this problem?  It's far easier for them to make informed choices about low carbon impact development than it is for a country to replace its entire high carbon impact infrastrucure (everyone's homes for example).

5. The AGW theory states that CO2 is the primary driver of temperature. They arrived at this idea because they did not know of anything else which could cause it. global warming is going on right now. and its happening cause there is a hole in the ozone layer letting in the rays of the sun that the ozone keeps out. and just cause there are people saying its not true, doesnt mean it is and saying it must be true, you must be very gullible. not to be mean but we are causing it a bit, but so is nature itself.  and some scientist say that global warming DIDNT cause all the bad hurricans and storms but idk if THAT is true...but cars letting off CO2 is making the hole bigger and the sun is melting all the ice thats why polar bears are endangered now. i suggest you read up more instead of just believing people who dont want to believe we are killing the earth.

I think that the word, Global Warming is bad.  "Climate Change" is more precise to me.  Don't believe everything about what Al Gore said.  In fact, the picture from the movie is CG from the Hollywood movie, The day after.  Funny...  Yes, climate is changing and maybe human activity is contributing a bit, but not much.  We are not that great, compare to what nature itself is doing to our planet.  It's all in the nature's circle.
