Is it true that there is a speed limit of 5 mph at Folsom Dam starting July 22, 08??

I heard from people that the rule is changing in Folsom Dam starting on tuesday the 22nd of July. 5 Mph speed limit until the water rises up to 400 Feet. IS this TRUE???

If so... does anyone know where i can go boating near folsom?

  1. yup, once the lake hits 400ft, it's 5mph till it goes up. Closest place would be the Sacramento River. It's more fun on the river anyways, you can drive up to swabbies, have lunch and some drinks, then wakeboard, ski or tube back to the American and party all day.


  2. Yes, they just had that on the Sacramento area news last night.

    When the level of Folsom Lake drops to below 400 feet above sea level, a 5mph speed limit on the lake comes into effect.

    As of last night it was still slightly above that level, but they were expecting it to drop below that level sometime today.

    You can still boat, just not very fast.
