  1. Twenty to thirty years ago, there were several train lines but the government decided to spend their money and effort on expanding the toll roads--this has improved things for drivers and bus traffic.

  2. Yes. Improving the old rails and machines used to be so expensive to raise it to the levels required for passenger service. So, they have a lot of highways (not all in excellent conditions), buses and a bunch of local airports.

  3. being a trainspotter mexico would be h**l on earth

  4. There are a few little short tourist train  tours...no actual passenger service between major cities.  See site below. The bus service is excellent, luxurious, clean and safe...much better than in the U.S. for sure.  So...there is good transportation available.

  5. besides Tequila and Copper canyon there is expreso Maya  avery expensive trip from Tabasco and travel in the Yucatan Peninsula.

  6. Yes it is. we haven't had regular trains for many years. We have the subway and what they call the 'suburban train' which is like the subway but on the surface, and it's only on the big cities.

  7. i live by the tequila express kachaw!
