Is it true that there was two chief ministers in Andhra state when it was newly formed ?

When Andhra state began to function separately from the erstwhile madras state, it is said that new andhra state was headed by one chief minister and also by another chief minister in hydrabad.

  1. Yes.  There were seperate Chief Ministers for Hyderabad State and Andhra State at the same perioe.

    While Tanguturi Prakasam was the first Chief Minister of Andhra State during the period from 1st October 1953 to 27th March 1955, Dr.Burgula Ramakrishna Rao was the Chief Minister of Hyderabad State during the period from 6th March 1952  to 31st October 1956

    was the first Chief Minister of Hyderabad state.  He was a Senior Civil servant in the Government of India. He was from Kerala an Indian state.

    Hyderabad state was absorbed by Indian Union in 1948 with the help of Operation polo. In January 1950, M.K.Vellodi, was made the Chief Minister of the State and the Nizam was designated `Raj Pramukh'. He was in the office from 26 Jan 1950 to 6 Mar 1952.

    First elected Chief Minister of Hyderabad state Burgula Ramakrishna Rao worked as revenue and education minister in Vellodi's Government

  3. i think when shri Ramakrishna Rao was the chief minister of hydrabad,  shri T.prakasam was the chief minister of newly formed andhra with the h.q. kurnool. Then, after hydrabad action by the home minister sardar vallbai patel, the hydrabad became the capital.
