  1. its called a hysterectomy? sorry if i spelled it wrong but my sister had one only because she had cervical cancer. i dont think they will do it just to prevent pregnancy.. talk to your doctor about it..

  2. The only reason for a hysterectomy (when they remove the uterus) is medical. There is a whole list of medical reasons why they would do this, but unless you can find some quack doctor who just wants money they do not remove your uterus as birth control.

  3. nope,never heard of that!!!

  4. yes it's called a hyserectomy and it is irreversable... without a uterus you can never ever carry a child again. i would stick to the tube tying considering you can get them untied. and usually they don't give people hysterectomys as a form of birth control its usually removed because of cancers, or endometriosis, or other problems. why would you want such an important part of your body gone anyways?

  5. Wow!    thats not a little operation and I doubt your Dr will do it just because........  There are several options to having your tubes tied that will make you unable to have any more children.  I would talk to your dr!!

  6. Tubes being tied is less evasive and can be reversible. Either way you will find you might need life long supplements.

  7. That's called a hysterectomy and unless there's other problems with the organ, they don't remove it just to prevent pregnancy.

  8. They do, it is called a hysterectomy.

But you would have to be on hormone pills for the rest of your life. They only usually do it if you have cancer or humeraging  after having a baby. you cant really just walk in and be like I want a hysterectomy. You have to have a reason why. My mother in law had it done because she had such severe UTI all the time.

  9. It's called a hysterectomy, the removal of the uterus.

  10. My aunt had this done but not to prevent future pregnancies. It is only if there is a medical problem and the uterus needs to be removed. Having your tubes tied is a lot less painful. The recovery time for removing your whole uterus is horrible. My aunt has been on constant pain meds since she had to have this done over a month ago.
