  1. According to the Bible, Sodom was near the Dead Sea which is nowhere near Turkey or the Gobi Desert.  

    Professional archaeologists, not to be confused with amateur frauds like Ron Wyatt, can't agree on exactly where Sodom was supposed to be.   There are some sites that could possibly have been Sodom but no clear evidence either way.
