  1. Ask any police force around the world , what is their busiest night. And they will tell you...  A dry warm full moon lit night.

In summer yes things get weird. But in winter not so. Put the two together and you will realize that the moon does not affect us in a weirdy way.

note,  my wife for some reason has a problem getting a good night sleep when their is a full moon.  Thats kinda weird I suppose.

  2.   When there is a full moon, you can see better outside. So the activity level goes up because its not completely dark.

  3. Yeah, I was behind my house at 12:30 A.M. and I can hear the rednecks out and about.  They're like howling wolves. I can hear them off in the distance hollering and **** with redneck accents.  I can also hear cows, and coyotes. - tennessee

  4. No, not any more weird than usual.  Studies have been done and there is no increase in mental illness, crime, etc. during full moons.  I don't know how this old urban legend got started.

  5. Bit there is a SIGNIFICANT increase in the number of questions about the moon on Y!A around the time of full moon than at other times.

Does that qualify as "things get weird" ?

    I would say, Yes.

  6. The studies are closer to "no difference" or "no significant difference" than the common beleif goes.  Perhaps crime rates appear to be higher on full moons due to the brighter moon, and it's up all night, that it's easier to see someone get caught.

For those who argue that the moons gravity affects our behavior, this is virtually absolute rubbish.  The center of gravity between a person, the earth, and the moon, is located just a few millionths of a millimeter from the center of the earth no matter what phase the moon is in.

The ocean tides do show activity during various moon phases due to the fact that oceans have a significantly larger mass than one person.
