Is it true that veterinarians have an M.D., with additional animal medical specialty on top of that? ?

Or is their D.V.M equivalent to the M.D. of a human Dr.?

  1. No it is not the equivilent


  2. No. Vets get a D.V.M. at normal vet schools or a V.M.D. at the U. of PA. They do not have to go to medical school. Personally, I have much higher respect for veterinarians than I have for physicians. Vets have to know the anatomy and physiology of many species, not just one,  and can't ask the patient about its symptoms.
