Is it true that visine works by burning a layer of skin off of your eyes?

  1. No, that's ridiculous. Someone probably said that because Visine can make your eyes sting, but it isn't burning anything off your eyes. As the person above said, Visine is a vasoconstrictor - it temporarily shrinks the little blood vessels in your eye that make your eyes appear red.

    Visine has a chemical in it that makes blood vessels contract, and your eyes look less red.

    It also has saline and some stuff to make your syes feel less dry and itchy.
