  1. OMG i hope not! I thought they were saying in like 40 years!!

  2. I hope not because that's the year I graduate from High School. I dout that Global Warming will kill us that fast. Mabye in like 90 yrs. People and animals will be dying like crazy because of it.

    A$H!

  3. The predictions for 2012 are based on mistranslations

which said that the end of an Age will come at 2012 not the end of the world

Jesus said he will be with us to the end of the age ,(of piscis )then we go into the age of Aquarius.

Everybody translates this incorrectly as the end of the world

    http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com/ explains this

the world will go on for billions of years

    Humanity is another matter

The greatest danger of extinction for a specie  is when there are to few

    or too many

We are heading for too many

A General modern nuclear War will finish most of us of

And so may climatic or global disasters like if Nibiru decides to show up

And how soon Global warming will zap us into eternity will depend on us

but it is a slow process and 2012 is round the corner

Although by the sounds of it far too many people are h**l bend on doing nothing

    even though

  4. No grasshopper

  5. no

  6. nobody is really sure, some people say astroids, some people say were being pulled in by the sun....... and some religiuos ppl think that God will appear and stuff.... so well, i think it will end in 2012.....

  7. no, but hopefuly by then people will realize what a hoax global warming really is.

  8. Neither one, whoever has been telling you this is lying if they say they know that to be true.

They are just using this talk to scare you into doing something they want.

  9. no, something will happen eventually but there is no set year

  10. No.  But it will be bad, if we don't do anything about it.

It won't be a Hollywood movie style disaster. Gradually coastal areas will flood and agriculture will be damaged. But it will be very bad. Rich countries will cope, but it will take huge amounts of money. In poor countries many people will die of starvation, but not all of them.

Really good website for more information here:

  11. We will not die in 2012.  That date refers to the end of a 'Solar Procession' related in the end of the Mayan calendar.

The alignment of planets will take place in 2012:

We would be FAR more likely to die from Global Cooling brought on by a solar minimum - a few more degrees heat is more survivable than an ice age.

I tend to believe 2012 will be the start of the "Age of Aquarius" - which some consider the "Age of Enlightenment"

  12. I believe the human race will be no longer in existance in about four and a half billion years when the sun implodes on itself. There is so much talk about solar energy, I think it will soon be widely used and for a very long time. but when the sun goes out, we will have no energy source. None of this matters, though, if we don't stop global warming, which WILL kill us in the nest 25 years. at this rate i can garuntee it.

  13. no way we r taking measures by growing tress and others............u do i think r growing tresssss how can u or me or anyone possibly die oh dear:)we must help ourselves right:$

  14. No, the world will end about 5 billion years from now. People will probably exist atleast another 100,000 years.

    Don't worry.

There are more urgent things to be worried about like our economy which is considerably more important then a little bit more heat (that's if we really are having any affect).

  15. Yep, so you can give away all you neat stuff since you won't need it.

  16. no, people just believe stupid things like that.

  17. If you think so, may I have your iPod, please?

  18. There is a theory that the world is going to end or everyone will die, not everyone but about 4.5 billion by 2012 because of pollution. Also, the mayans predicted that the world/universe is going to end by December 21 2012. Some scientist think that the Ice caps may melt and flood place below sea level. Some scientist also think the world is going to explode but nobody will know until 2012. These are all just theories.

  19. and this is a serious answer - find someone with a time machine and ask them (but a bit sarcastic)

  20. No.  The 2012 date comes from people who think that because that's the end of the ancient Mayan calendar, that all life on earth will end in December of that year.  As for global warming, if the trend continues it won't be pretty, but there's no indication that it'll end life on earth as early as 2012.

  21. By focusing on 2012 or any future date will only inhibit you from living for today and what you can do to make life better.  Live today as if it were your last yet plan your life as if the world will go on forever. To many people have missed living by focusing on what may or may not happen.  It also becomes an excuse for apathy and inaction.

  22. No. It's more likely that we all will die because people don't use proper spelling online.

  23. Dear Hey*World,

This is not a silly question, it is most likely the buzz of the news. No one know's for sure. I do know that we cannot predict what is going to happen in 4-years. There are sceptics, and NO. Probably, global warming will only effect our children's grandchildren's grandchildren's children or something like that. There is an incredibly miniscule chance that that will happen. Unfortunatley, something IS going to happen because of global warming. If we don't change our ways, one day or another, the world will be heavily affected. We are minusing the chance that our future will be bright. So my advice is too ignore that, live for today and GO GREEN. We're a selfish society. Hope that helped.

    Sincerely,

    Liz A.

  24. There is no connection between 2012 and Global Warming.  Every paranormal group out there has latched onto this date as the end of the world, the return of the lizard people in their spacecraft, or things of that nature.  I'm sure the people who buy into it doesn't include the scientists who study Global Warming.  If we all die in 2012 it would be an incredible coincidence if it  had something to do with Global Warming.  Most experts say that we are feeling the effects now, but any real threat to our existence is decades, or centuries away.

  25. I don't believe that anyone can put an actual number to the year, but some people may be treading water by then.  The rest will be living in flood zones and moving to higher ground.  Global warming is real.  Ask the polar bears.

  26. Imagine how anyone could not take a question like this seriously!

I'm guessing that in 2013 you won't be taking the end of the world in 2012 too seriously yourself.

  27. I'm not a scientist or anything, but that cannot be possible. Sure there will be more deserts and less forests, but I don't think we will die in 2012. I always thought it would take about a million more years or so...

  28. The world as we know it is ending but you do not need to die. We need to change our thinking from service to self to service to others.

We can no longer be greedy and self centered.

We need to form communities that are self sufficient using alternative energies and growing our own foods.

We can then share between other communities. This will be the way of the future. Some of you will laugh but in time you will see.

I spent years working with Red Cross and the disasters will increase as you can already see.

Also our foods are no longer very good for us grown in factory farms and with genetically engendered seeds.

We did not have to worry about the diseases of the farm animals when it was family farms.

With oil prices so high the price of food and everything else is going to go way up. People will have a hard time feeding their families. Are you ready to stand in a bread line or soup line?

So get some heirloom seeds grow a garden. Get together with you neighbors and help each other.
