Is it true that we can get a free credit report from all three major credit bureaus?

That's what I heard somewhere and wonder if any of you have ever done that. Do they really give one out for free once a year? If so, I want to request one from each bureau today. Do you know how I can do it? Do I just go to their website and request it? Anyway, I hope they don't charge me for it if they claim to give one out for free once a year because that would make me angry. I would appreciate your input. Thank you.

Yes that's true.  The law mandated that everybody is entitled to a free credit report once a year.  All you have to do is go to their site and create an account.
