Is it true that we can take the SATs more than 3 times?

My friends told me that in 2009, (I think february not completely sure), that we're able to take the SATs as many times as we want to. I'm going to be a junior in a couple of days and I haven't taken a single SAT yet. I'm stressing out pretty badly but if we're able to take it more than 3 times, then I wouldn't be stressed out too badly as much as I am right now.

  1. You can already take it as many times as you want to, technically.  It just doesn't look very good if you had to take it six times or more to get a decent score.  But yes, starting February of 2009 (so basically, starting in your grade), you can pick and choose which SAT scores you want to send to college (you can't mix and match different testing dates to get one SAT score, but you can pick which test dates you want to send).

  2. You can take it as many times as you'd like. This does tend to help as many colleges "superscore," in which they take your best section scores from ALL your sat results.

    Ex:

    1st SAT

    Reading: 500

    Math: 600

    Writing: 700

    2nd SAT

    Reading: 600

    Math: 500

    Writing: 600

    Superscore: Reading: 600, Math: 600, Writing: 700

However, since you're in the class of '10, starting from the administration of the March 2009 SAT, you can send what scores you WANT colleges to see. Basically, if you have a huge streak of doing bad on the SAT, you'd want to use this feature since they won't see how you always do bad on the SAT.

  3. As long as you pay, you can take it as many times as you want. And don't stress out! Just make sure you take it a couple times before senior year.  You can ever take it fall of senior year and you'll be just fine.  Also, three times is usually enough, you won't see too much variance in scoring after that.  But hey, if that makes you feel more comfortable, go for it! But dont stress out too badly! They're not all that bad!

  4. It doesn't matter how many time you take the SAT, they are an industry that profit from their services that they provide, so why would they say no to more sales.  Also, they are a trusted source of many colleges and universities, but more schools are accepting applications without scores.  Nonetheless, take the sat as many times as you want, as you can afford the fee and if you receive a score that you are comfortable with.  Univeristies usually accept your top scores, with that said, do as many as you want.  Also, there are no maximum amount of SAT you could take (any year)

  6. i think that they always let kids take it as many times as they wanted.
