Is it true that wearing spectacles makes the eyes sunken and swollen?

many people say that if someone has been wearing glasses for a number of years, his or her eyes get sunken and the eyelids swell up. i've noticed this in a lot of people who have been wearing glasses for a long time, including myself. Is it true in all cases, or in some? Is there any remedy, or will the eyes get back to normal when the person stops wearing glasses and wears lenses?

  1. I don't know about that I've been wearing glasses since i was in 2nd grade and my eyes look the same I'm 22 now... if anything contact lenses s***w your eyes up not glasses.

  2. No. I do not find this as a justified fact....I have been wearing glasses since i guess 14-15 years or may b more. It is just the concept that gives our mind to intrepret what we have to look. As a healthcare person I have never read that wearing glasses will give your eyes some kind of extra strain that will cause swelling or sinking.

Its just a difference in the appearance before and after you start wearing!

  3. Do not believe it, as we age there are changes in facial skin especially around the eyes including the eye lid.

Some eye problems cause redness and swelling and people just live with it rather than change prescriptions.

Wearing lenses later in age, does not, make a difference except you lose the ridge from the glass bridge pinching you nose. And you may look like a "startled raccoon" which some people do because they can not wear contacts and look natural.

Making the eyes look better is done with perhaps exercises, better fitting glasses, a new style,  cosmetics or plastic surgery.

  4. No, that is completely false...it's just another silly myth.

Some people look that way...but it has nothing to do with their glasses.
