  1. Agree with Mo on that he was a part of inventing some things for radio but too many added too many things to make "radio"

There are movements to give the credit to the Inventor Tesla (which a 1980's hair metal group named themselves after and speaks of a lawsuit dealing with the credit on the " Great radio controversy" album)

Funny on the Amos and Andy... Been funny if it was Stern...

  2. is it true that when alexander ghram bell invented the telephone that he called his mum?

  3. How could that be?  When he created the device, there was nothing on the air.

  4. Radio evolved as part theory, part discovery and part invention.

Marconi did not discover radio. The hypothesis and discovery of the possibility that radio could exist was made by James Maxwell who set forth the theory of magnetic waves. Then Heinrich Hertz created these waves in a laboratory setting.

Once the existence of the waves became known, several men fought for years over patents to various types of transmitters, receivers and their associated components for these waves. Included were Marconi, Edison, Tesla and many others.

It finally came down to Tesla and Marconi, with Marconi winning a Nobel Prize and being awarded the majority of the patents. Tesla fought it and eventually the case was won by his estate tragically just months after his death in the early 1940s. By then radio was a well-established medium.

It was quite the controversy back in the day
