  1. yes, it is true, because more processes are running.

norton costs money for the full version - and is better, but if you dont want to pay for it then AVG is probably the best free antivirus

  2. Not only will your computer become slower, there is a very high risk that your computer will crash as there is a conflict between running two antivirus.  If you have the resource you can run four or five antispyware program without conflit as one will always find what the other misses.

  3. Both of them slows down your computer, Free avg is uselss and norton is bloatware pathetic at detecting virus and malware, I owuld suggest getting avast www.avast.com and spyware seacrh and detroy as your anti spyware,

  4. Yes, your PC should have one program that is solely responsible for keeping it clean and virus free

Also, anything but Norton & Avg

  5. Norton if its the Corporate version, if not, then AVG, and yes, it will make it WAYYYYY slower.  Because each file is now getting scanned twice.  Its not like wearing 2 condoms, you dont get twice the protection.

  6. Get rid of norton.

It's a huge resource hog that barely works anymore.

AVG Free Edition is the way to go.

  7. there could be conflict yes

  8. Both AVG 8 and Norton 360 will slow down your PC.

    Try Avast.

Avast Home Edition version 4.8 is an effective anti-virus program.

You MUST do a boot time scan in safe mode in order remove every single virus on your PC. Even those viruses that hide inside the system restore folder.

  10. "Microsoft recommends that you have only one anti-virus program installed on your computer."

It is strongly recommended that you run only one antivirus program at a time. Having more than one antivirus program active in memory uses additional resources and can result in program conflicts and false virus alerts. Your best defense against computer viruses and malicious programs is to keep your virus definitions up to date.
