  1. Yes it is true (I went to boarding school, and my periods were much more regular when I was living with other girls compared to when I grew up and got my own apartment).

The cycles become synchonized to that of the Alpha female, the one with the strongest and most regular cycle.

One theory put forward is that it helps women with weaker and more irregular cycles to maintain menstruation to encourage successful breeding (of course it would have gone back to the times when humans lived in very small and tight-knit communities, like tribes).

  2. it is true. To what extent I dont' know. But I was traveling with a group and we all but one had our cycle at the same time! Freaky!

  3. Yes, although I have absolutely NO idea how or why this happens

  4. For long periods of time...yes. As long as they are not on birth control or anything. My sister's and I's ran like clock work when we both lived at home.

  5. Yes, that is a scientifically proven fact. Even women who don't live together but are really close and spend alot of time together can become synchronized. This is why if you have a few daughters close in age, when they hit puberty you should go hunting or fishing for the week... every month... LOL

  6. Yes, in high school I was on the dance team & most of us usually had our periods the same time, I remember there was one time before a football away game & we were changing in the locker room & about 6 girls (myself included) had started our period, it was pretty weird but all of us were laughing about it lol...ahhh, high school...

  7. Yes, it's true, but it only applies to smaller groups [I don't think it happens at women's colleges on a massive scale, for instance] and it has to be people you spend a lot of time with.

  8. I don't know because that's not something I like to discuss with other people. I've heard it's true but am not aware of it happening personally.

  9. Yes, it is true.

  10. In general the answer is yes, but there are some of us that never seem to sync to the cycles of others - I never did but I've seen it with my daughters. It is individual.

  11. I have heard yes, but I wouldn't know for sure obviously.

  12. Yes

In the UK it used to be called 'The Nurses Home Syndrome'

It's not mysterious - it has something to do with giving off hormones that each woman's body can sesnse and then eventually they all synch up.
