  1. Sure, if you are going thru a growth spurt.

When your body is putting all that energy into growing you'll feel a bit more hungry and a bit more tired.   It's a catch 22 though... because sometimes those growing bones can be so achy that they keep you awake!   It isn't weird that your sis is taller though... don't worry about that.

Talk to your parents or doctor about getting better sleep - it does a body good.

  2. Yes. Gravity is not pushing down on your head...unless you sleep standing up.

  3. When your body is in a state of rest it can grow and revitalize itself. You do not grow because gravity is not pushing down on you... The only thing that happens there is you spine decompresses a little which will make your true height when you first get out of bed.

  4. lucy this is true, go to scienceforme.com,and you can see for your self..good luck...

  5. yes

  6. growth hormone production is triggered during sleep; sleep deprivation inhibits the production of growth hormones.

so this doesn't mean to say if you sleep more you'll grow more but that if you don't sleep as much as you should your body won't be able to time all these intricate horomone release processes that would help you grow a healthy body.
