  1. I keep hearing that I but the military has taught me one thing.

    My mission

    My men

    Myself.

That has always stood in my head.  I always take care of my loved ones and those around me before myself.  And it's not easy doing so as, your quote is pretty true.  If you don't take care of yourself, it just gets harder to take care of others.  But it's a vicious cycle.  If you take care of yourself first, someone you love, who depends on you has to wait.

  2. Most definitely.

  3. I think that's very true depending on the type of help. Sometmes you don't have time to focus on your own issues in a lot of situations. It makes me think of caring for my disabled and autistic sister. My mom and I have sacrificed a lot to help her and look after her.

Then there's times when you need that time for yourself to build up the things needed for helping others. It makes me think of charity. I sometimes feel like I wish I could do more to help out others, but I can't even help myself in most situations so it's definitely necessary to improve yourself first.

  4. The trouble is knowing when you have spent enough time on yourself

  5. for some people it is.................but it really depends on the person some people could be really self centered and if they do something for someone else they feel like you owe them rather then them feeling that the other person needs it or deserves.

but also a person who puts other people in front of them often have low self esteem which is not good...

  6. Absolutely.  New moms have to learn this.  If they eat well and exercise and get proper amounts of sleep, they will be happier and more energetic mom's.  If they take time for themselves i.e. go to a SPA now and again, they will not resent taking care of the children.

  7. yes. you have to take care of yourself first.

  8. Yes. If you are completely worn-out yourself, you won't be of much help to others.

Just like they tell parents on the airlines, "Put your oxygen mask on first, then help your children with theirs."

  9. That's  a smart thing to do.
