  1. Traditionally yes. Nowadays they are better spenders.

  2. h**l no! women like to waste money on shoes, dresses and other sh*t that they don't need, men like to save it.

women should get mad when their husbands buy something expensive because they (women) buy expensive things.

  3. I'm not sure if this is a true statement, but I do know that my mother was the one who budgeted the household finances while my father made the money. It wasn't until he decided to take on the responsibility of budgeting the household income that we started to fall behind in bills, get evicted from a few apartment homes (lose a house) and have to seek government assistance until we where able to rebound from our "recession".

Once my mother got a job and gave up the stay at home mom role, and was allowed to regain access to the family finances, we where able to get back on track to a healthy savings with money for bills and rent.

So in our case this was (and is true) but I'm not sure how everyone else see it.

  4. I am not the one paying the bills right now, my boyfriend is. However, I am working on home business stuff for him, and have shown him many breakdowns of costs and such.

I think it's just a responsibility shared by the couple, which is good. If you are married, it helps to know where your money goes. Especially since the main cause of divorce is financial strains.

  5. Not in my house. We both suck at budgeting.

  6. In general, Yes! My mother use to turn 50 cent into a dollar.

  7. Not in My house

  8. LOL, I'm a better budget-er with his and my money. I think long-term. I like having good credit and a retirement account, and I'll scrimp a little to achieve those things.

He likes the large screen t.v.s, and gadgets. and over shops at the grocery market. I would say at least 1/4 of our groceries go bad because we don't eat them fast enough.

Good economics is not gender specific. My Grandfather was excellent with money management, and retired owning his own home, the car was paid for, and he had a few stock investments that supplemented his social security check.

  9. no, frugality is not gender specific.
