In a word, no! People who are pulled from the water half drowned have more water in their lungs than a teaspoon. My mother was in the hospital with serious fluid on one of her lungs. They ran a tube under a rib into the lung and drained over a pint of fluid.

So, this old wive's tale is false.

Well think theres thinsg ( disesases and conditions out tehrE) that prevent you from breathing whilst you eat, or from breathing out your nose at all, and if you breath in and thsis slihgt bit of water gets into your lungs defo, thats how you can choke whne taking a drink.

Yes. My friend's sister was taking pills. And it was the afternoon after it had rained. She was high and stumbled over her feet and fell into a small puddle. The fall knocked her out. She would have eventually gained conciousness again. But her nose was in the water. So she drowned. Sad story really... but anyway. yes. you can drown in any amount of water. As long as your airways are blocked off.

ha,this i an easy topic to answer,with the basic use of knowledge.you see,when this question ask-"Can you really drown from a tablespoon?-,the teaspoon is  set measurement,used in baking and liquid.Its not even a large ammount of water.Ask your mom;maybe she cna show you what one is.Its also impossible to drown,because the medical definition declares that "drowning" is the filling of the lungs via fluid.think about it.common sense :]

A teaspoon? No way. But you can drown in just 2-3 inches of water, if you're held under.
