  1. Sure.  It's organic matter.


  2. Sure-you can, but when you consider the energy cost of the operation + the necessary energy for processing of the fat (remember it IS fat, not oil). You spend a lot more energy than you can get out. Remember the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics?
