Is it true that you can not have animal fat touching a vegetable as fried onions on kosher sandwich?

  1. no, it's not true, unless you fry them in lard or if you add cheese


  2. No. Only meat and milk cannot mix in kosher foods, and vegetables are neutral, so meat touching vegetables is okay.

  3. Vegetables are parve so it's not a problem. But if you were to fry onion in animal fat and then put them in a sandwich which had cheese (or another dairy product) in then it wouldn't be kosher.
