Is it true that you can take lighters on airplanes now?

I'm flying in two days and I want to bring my lighter, and my mom told me that the rules changed and that lighters are allowed. Is that true?

And do you think I could bring hemp so I can make hemp braclets, if I already have it pre-cut?

Because I know that hemp is illegal in New york schools.

Lighters ARE allowed now.  

I would steer clear of the hemp.

You can bring a regular lighter but it has to be in your check in bag, you can not bring it on the plane! Security wont allow it

Torch type lighters are still not allowed (Zippo).

The hemp will be illegal on the aircraft.  Federal law.
