  1. Yes OJ contains acid. This is not good for running.

    It doesn't cause you to get sore and muscle ache, but it causes stomach cramps and side stiches.

    This is why you should avoid acidy foods a day before a race or run.


  2. Be careful of eating or drinking anything right before you run. But yes, citric acid helps reduce cramping.
