  1. The rule I was taught is you have to hear the clicking sound 9 times before you can turn.


  2. Yes!   Driving instucter tought us, usually about a block before you turn as a reference.

      Also, depending on speed traffic and other conditions maybe more.

  3. Yes,if you are moving at normal speed.in the town.In case you are driving  faster in highways it is in your own interest to indicate the turn signal at distance more than 100 feet.

  6. Use a little common sense. Nobody's going to be out there measuring. And hearing the clicking sound nine times before turning? That's asinine. What happens if it only got to seven, are you going to forget about making the turn, even though the signal was on?
