Is it true that young animals are "cute" because it is a defense mechanism??? I think I read this before just wondering if anyone else has heard this.

  1. Not really a defense mechanism - from an evolutionary standpoint the cute-factor encourages nurturing from adults... ie food, protection, shelter.


  2. I just thought all babies are cute.

  3. nope being cute doesn't help the baby animal against predators they will still kill and eat the baby animal, the only animal that can perceive "cuteness" is humans
