  1. Wow, you are sick.....only the neo-cons can come up with such dribble.

  2. No, that is incorrect.  There is a Kennedy who is mentally retarded, but quite alive and well... and while kept out of the media eye is not a source of horrible embarassment either.

  3. I'm not sure which Kennedy's exactly you are talking about, but anyway I didn't hear that rumor.  I did hear that JFK's sister Rosemary Kennedy was diagnosed with mental retardation (not sure if that's an accurate diagnosis or not, a lot of kids with disorders like Autism were diagnosed with mental retardation).  Anyway, Rosemary spent most of her life in an institution after having a frontal lobotomy, which is a surgical procedure in which the frontal lobe of the brain is effectively destroyed and severed from the rest of the brain.  She experienced mood swings and at the age of 23, this was felt to be the way to stop those.  Her diagnosis of mental retardation has also been questioned because she was noted to be relatively intelligent and educated.  The lobotomy caused her to essentially become very infantile and she spent the rest of her life in an institution.  My thought would be that Rosemary was probably not really mentally retarded, however, that would have been a more socially acceptable thing to tell the public than what really happened.  The Kennedys wouldn't have wanted the public to know that they had a daughter with a mental illness and that a botched lobotomy destroyed her.  I'm not completely sure if it was a botched lobotomy or not.  There are stories of people who have had lobotomys that were successful (my professors in college have named a few rare examples), but the case of Rosemary is clearly not one.  Lobotomies were cruel procedures and thankfully are no longer performed.

  4. to bad the bush's didn't go that route with their monkey boy

  5. I suspect a book may be in the works.

  6. Oh, they tried but I'm still here - ain't I?

Edit: I can't believe you are giving a kid with an upside down face thumbs down. Who's the monster now?

  7. Yes, that happened.

  8. No, that was the Bush's and while they put it to sleep, it still managed to be elected president.

  9. mimi got it.

  10. Not sure which Kennedy you mean, but JFK had a sister (Rosemary Kennedy) who was mildly mentally retarded.  At the age of 23, her father gave permission for her to have a lobotomy (to calm her mood swings that the family found difficult to handle).  Sadly, the controversial operation failed miserably and she was basically a "vegetable" for the rest of her life.  The operation was said to be her mother's "greatest regret."  The second link shows a photo of Rosemary with her mother Rose.  Rosemary lived in a institution for the rest of her life, until age 86 when she died.
