  1. If you haven't joined the B&O discussion group, may I suggest you look there, too? The group discusses just about anything B&O: the Georgetown branch, the Old Main Line, trackage in other states besides Maryland and West Virginia, salvage of historic rolling stock and much more.

Look up http://www.borhs.org (maybe .com), google for Baltimore and Ohio historical society, or hit the yahoo groups for baltimore and ohio. I've hit the website most every day for several years now and find good stuff regularly! BTW, one of the regular contributors was raised around Willard, O, and has made many good posts in the forum.

Also, the other responder, Alco83, was and maybe still is a moderator on a forum on www.railfan.net  Why not check it out when you can, too?

Finally, I wonder when or if they'll ever replace the good ole' CPL in Guyandotte, WV, near my hometown. The CPL was still there as of New Year's Eve!

  2. Well, unfortunately, if it is not happening yet, it soon will be.  CSX is working vigorously to replace all of its former B&O CPLs, including the C&O's venerable signals as well, with the standard "traffic light" signals (for instance, CPLs are coming down as we speak on the former B&O St. Louis main line in Illinois).

So, if you are interested in photos it would probably be best to get them as soon as possible as the C&O and B&O signals are living on borrowed time.
