  1. They keep your DNA on file & fingerprints too, whether you are convicted or not!

  2. No.

    False.

The Freedom of Information Act, caused secret files on all civil activists, at the time 1973 (Abby Hoffman, Jane Fonda, Black Pathers, Tom Hayden etc.) to be revealed.

The new Homeland Security Act, allows for files to be shared but; disclosure is open, unless a case that may be in jeopardy or may be compramised by disclosure.

  3. Yes they do they tend to mostly be for high profile offenders, although anyone arrested and investigated for a crime will during that process have some Intel about him, associates, known haunts. And yes my understanding is this material is classified as is their informers. Most police forces will have an intelligence gathering dept these are the people who collate info on targeted villains, local gangs, drug dealers, burglars, those who handle stolen goods etc.

  4. Of  course they keep records just like doctors keep medical records. And like any record, there can be a mistake or the record can be lost.

  5. Of course they have intelligence records and intelligence divisions. Yes these records are kept secret, even from the police department in general. And..."No" the Homeland Security Act has no bearing on this. I've worked in an intelligence division. There is plenty of room for this information. It's called a computer and servers. Intelligence entries are made daily, especially in narcotics and vice. Only certain personnel can access some of this information. But every report, pawn, field interview, crash report, etc. is entered into the department's computer system and can be used as some form of intelligence. But surviellance, street intel and other sensitive information is stored, also.

  6. You have way to much free time.  Stop watching conspiracy shows on your tv...

  7. "police",..."intelligence",...a contradiction in terms if ever I heard one!

  8. They may do if the person is a prolific offender

  9. I really do not think they have time to do that , they have enough on their hands , but if you don't do anything wrong why worry about it in the first place.

  10. I don't think that police officers have enough time let alone enough space to gather/keep that kind of information on everyone with a criminal record and/or victims.

  11. The police are there to help us, maybe they do watch certain suspects i.e. terrorists, i doubt they do this secretly but i think they do watch out for people who get cautions and then go and do a similar thing again, but in general i'm convinced they help us when band where they possibly can, they have a pretty hard job so respect them.
