the ringtone service at that site is free because you can make them yourself. Just upload any mp3 file and they have an online converter where you crop the mp3 file into a ringtone. And they text it to you. That's the only way to get real free ringtones. Other than that, you might fall for one of those online website scams, where  you will be signing up for a monthly subscription service for 1 or 2 ringtones at a cost of $10 a month.

I've heard at&t only let you keep ringtones for a month, but you should try going to mobile17.com, a free ringtone site. you upload the song yourself and send it to your phone usually through a picture message.
