Is it true there are student tours that go to the Greek islands from New York?

  1. There are student tours that go EVERYWHERE.   Many originate or leave the US from New York.  Yes.  There are student tours of the Greek Isles that leave from New York (generally by plane to Athens, but might include a cruise through the islands).

    Planning and marketing Student tours is a HUGE business!

A few years ago I went on a chartered sailing trip before I studied abroad.  I had an unforgettable time.  You have the benefit of your own captain who will sail you to a few relaxing islands (Syros, Hydra, Spetses, Paros) as well as party islands (mykonos, Ios) depending on your interests.  As long as you have more than 5 or 6 people you can organize a trip on http://www.greekseas.com.  It usually costs about 450-550 euros per person per week.  The price includes everything but food and drinks.
