Well,........it happens only to animals which can reproduce by Rgeneration...i.e. if you cut a part, it will grow again. Only a few insects are able to do so...!

There is at least one reptile that I know of that if you cut its tail it will grow again. Its actually a means of defense against its enemies, but not if u cut half of it
