  1. The Autobahn has never had a speed limit... and it's a funny feeling zooming along with your foot to the firewall in your Benz and be passed by a VW Rabbit.

  2. Its partially true - there are certain sections of the Autobahn (that is what that certain roadway is called) that do not regulate speed, but as you approach populated areas the speeds then become regulated.

  3. There's no NUMERICAL speed limit on parts of the autobanh.  But you can still get pulled over for driving recklessly.

  4. In many rural parts of the Autobahn, there is no speed limit.  In parts where the road winds a lot, is in need of repair, in construction zones, or in urban areas there is a speed limit.  To enforce it, there are many speed cameras up.  They take a picture of your car and mail you your ticket.  Even if you are from another country, they still have ways to hunt you down.

All of the rules of the road are strictly enforced.  Stay in your lane, use your turn signal, stay in the left lane unless you are passing somebody, and do not even think of passing somebody on the right.

If you do go driving there, have fun.  Just don't be stupid.

  5. I included a link about the German Autobahn.  Halfway down the page it talks about speed limits for certain situations.

This is an excerpt from it:

The German autobahns are famous for being some of the few public roads in the world without blanket speed limits for cars and motorcycles. Certainly, speed limits do apply at junctions and other danger points, like sections under construction or in need of repair. Speed limits at non-construction sites are typically 100 km/h, 120 km/h, or 130 km/h, on the A2 are also parts with a 140 km/h speed limit. Construction sites have a usual speed limit of 80 km/h but may be as low as 60 km/h or even 40 km/h.

  6. on the auto bond you wouldnt be no speed limit( its in germany)

  7. Only on certain sections of the Autobahn and if you have the correct documentation on your car. Lots of people from the US come to Germany and rent a hot car just to drive wide open on the Autobahn.

    Great fun!!!
