  1. abt destiny and our decisions i am always confused wd!

i mean sometimes i feel that there is no destiny only ur decisions make difference.. but when sometimes circumstances just go opposite and everything is quite unexpectedly go in other direction , i feel its destiny...( when even after ur true afforts  and hardwork).

but i think we should not believe in destiny but believe in our actions...

    as this quote says-

"If you create an act, you create a habit. If you create a habit, you create character. If you create a character, you create a destiny."

so our decisions make destiny..( D 4 decision and D 4 destiny , both related wd each other)

    (thanks)

  2. If you make RIGHT decisions then you may have control on your destiny.

Destiny is just like you are driving on a two way highway where vehicles come from opposite direction too. Even if you have control on your steering opposite person's mistake can affect you.

Your vehicle may have thousands of parts working ok.., but failure of one may cause you trouble... so it is our right to take right decisions .., follow your line .., follow the speed norms and the directions indicated on road side...

if you destined you will reach your destination (destiny) succesfully

  3. Multiple factors shape our destiny, the type of decisions

we make are also part of destiny. Our destiny is under control of the existence and is never in our control however intelligent

our decisions are.The happenings in the whole cosmos

have an effect on us.One important thing that we must

never forget is destiny is only for body bound mind and our

essential self conscious is never affected by events of the

destiny.Mind comes into existence by superimposing

imaginary adjuncts on underlying self consciousness"Iam"

and experiences imaginary destiny.Individual limited consciousness(jiva),God,world, destiny are created by

the power of imagination(kalpana sakti) which is part of

playfulness(leela) of the ultimate reality.Destiny helps us in drawing out our consciousness which is lying dormant

    behind the mind.

  5. If there's such thing as a destiny, how can one have control over it in the first place?  Doesn't "destiny" mean something like a "preordained path?"

  6. You can make decisions as per your knowledge and experience and at your will, but you can not get control over your destiny, you never know whether your decisions are right or wrong, even you take decisions for right. (You take a decision to make your child a doctor, but child ends up being a business man as he was not good at science but at commerce, so business was his destiny)

The results of your decisions will be what is in your destiny which is out of your control.

Destiny or fate refers to the things that will happen to a person in the future, and which cannot be changed. It may be conceived as the irresistible power or agency that determines the future, whether in general or of an individual. It is a concept based on the belief that there is a fixed natural order to the universe.

  7. What you do and what you desire is what shapes helps your destiny. Whatever one remember at the time of death, that he will attain to without fail. The Lord states in Bhagavad-gita: ' I have been fulfilling everyone's desires since time immemorial.' We shape our future by how we act and what we desire in this life and in previous lives. Work done as a sacrifice to please the Lord has to be performed, otherwise , whatever you do will lead to bondage in this material world. For every action we perform, there is an equal an opposite reaction. That is the law of nature. Duality. Act now, pay later. desire now, get later. But we pay a price. Forgotten the lord we fallen souls, paying most heavily the material worlds tolls. Take care. GOURANGA GOURANGA GOURANGA

  8. TRUE. By introspective decisions I control my DESTINY' where God guides me

  9. No.

Decisions concerning your personal affairs are within your control. But not over your Destiny.

Destiny or Kismet may be considered as something fore ordained. It may be seen as a fixed sequence of events that is inevitable and unchangeable.

    Dear banjaran,

The fact is that we will make decisions, but in reality we have no control over our destiny or fate. The human being fancies itself to be the doer, controlling everything, but in reality the human ego/mind perpetuates false identities that are not in control. One may believe their decisions control their destiny, but in reality consciousness acts through an innate intelligence that is prior to, and beyond our control. This innate intelligence can be called God, and God is the all-doer, therefore we function through Divinity. So, that said, we are ephemeral, infinitesimal waves in the immutable, infinite ocean and we have no control of the ocean.

This answer can be explained on several levels. First, it can be said that destiny and fate are karmic in nature, therefore the perceived decisions we make, and actions we take are from the sprouted seeds of prarabdha karma that is active, bearing fruit from past actions, and prarabdha karma is beyond our present control. The decisions and actions performed now, day to day (kriyamana karma), do influence the future events because they are shaping and are soon to become seeds of sanchita karma. However, kriyamana karma is influenced from prarabdha karma, the sprouted seeds from the dormant seeds of sanchita karma, which are accumulated karma from past lives and this life's past actions. Prarabdha karma draws from a very deep well of sanchita karma and will continue to run it's course. Secondly, on another level, decision making is within the realm of prakriti hence  the three gunas, which function the five elemental play also known as transitory life.

Within the spectrum of the gunas there is sattvaguna, which is pure essence or true nature. Rajoguna is the activating quality that is the energy behind the perceived decision making and all other activities. Tamoguna, the quality of inertia, claims authorship or doership for all activities. So, in short, the pure essence is "being taken for a ride" by rajoguna into many activities, which includes the perception of decision making, and the darkness or ignorance of tamoguna claims authorship for the perceived decisions and activities. Essentially we do nothing and are being played. We act from our karmic impressions, and our unique elemental makeup under the influence of the gunas.  It can be said that our destiny was imprinted at the time of our conception.

What must be fully understood is that, from a perspective of the law of karma and the functioning of the gunas with the five elements, we are not the doer. The decisions will be made through karma and the influence of the gunas on the human form, but the outcome is totally out of our human hands. In fact, the one making perceived decisions is merely a puppet on a string within the flow of Divinity, lila, otherwise known as the five elemental play, the world functioning as we know it. A puppet will dance and act not  under its own influence. In a similar manner, we in the ephemeral human form function in the world but are bound by the of law of karma and the gunas' interaction with the five elements.

In closing, it is not true that our continued decisions control our destiny. Rather, this is a perception perpetuated by tamoguna, is ignorance only, and we have no influence on prarabdha karma, nor the gunas which function in the Divine play. As humans, we must make conscious, rational decisions in every day life, living decently, burning karma, purifying, cultivating sattvaguna, but it must be understood that we are not the doer, nor can we claim the fruit of our actions. Our destiny is imprinted at the time of conception, and we have no control of destiny because we are not the doer.

  12. I believe when you are in the mode of Correct Living the Decisions which are generally good for Humanity or right living are making you in control of situation and at Peace with Blessings of God. In case you are making a decision which is pricking your conciusness , I am sure it has some impact . Destiny is not a single outcome But culmination of 'Free will ' and "Law of Karma".
