If you tell me that it's the duty of all to vote whether they're informed or not, please explain your rationale.

  1. idk

  2. That's where Obama got his followers

  3. Your comment in regard to it being the duty of voters to be informed is a non sequitur.

So what if political parties try to register uniformed voters?  That does not not negate the duty many of us feel to be informed.

Of course, it's all just semantics.  Voting is a right, not a duty.  Waste it or use it wisely.  What you do with the right is up to you.

  4. It's our duty to be informed BECAUSE it is our duty to vote. That is, our duty is not only to cast a ballot, but to do so in an informed manner.

  5. In Australia they are required to vote. There it is viewed as an obligation, not just a right. Not voting means you have no say in the process and therefore shouldn't squawk about it to those who do.

Even the "uninformed" have a right to their opinions even if it is based on eye color or the distance between the ears. generally this results in a self-inflicted wound.

It's not a duty so much as a privilege.

  6. It's an obligation to vote, although a competency exam should be passed to receive a registration card. Wouldn't it be nice to stand and wait with 3 other voters to cast your ballot.

  7. they let retards vote...and the mentally ill...seriously...put that with the avg idiot who knows NOTHING about the issues and we are DOOMED!!!

  8. Nice idea, but the Democrats wouldn't stand for 90% of their rank & file to be disenfranchised.

  9. It's our civic duty to vote. Interestingly enough, if a person is too lazy to be informed on the issues, then I find it hard to believe that same person would actually be motivated to show up on election day and vote.

  10. i agree with kill_yr_television... it is your duty to vote in an informed manner. HOWEVER, if you are not informed when the time to vote comes don't s***w it up for the rest of us by casting an ignorant vote. the problem with that theory is that the majority of what i see and hear is uninformed nonsense and that's what most candidates count on. just for the record it's not that hard to stay informed in this day and age, you can find anything about anyone on the internet. take a little time away from yahoo answers and go find the answers you need to be an informed voter at the candidates personal websites, at the senate website, or any other reliable site you can find on who they are and the issues they claim to represent. you mind find that things are quite different from what you see on tv and read on yahoo answers

  11. If you are voting Republican, just skip it. It is going to be a landslide for the Democrat whichever the candidate. Most of the Republicans will just stay home with Gramps McCain as the candidate. I don't know why the RNC wanted to lose this election.
