have final approval from the underwriter a week before the closing date? We have the appraisal and title work completed, as well as homeowners insurance policy, but our loan officer has yet to hear the final ok from the underwriter. He says everything is fine, but I am concerned. We were pre approved for the loan, does that mean it's going through? I have one week to get all my things packed up, but I'm afraid to pack up without hearing from the underwriter. This is our first time buying so I'm not sure if this is usually how it goes or not.

First time home buyers can now opt for first time home buyers loans and buy their choice of home more easily. Moreover, simply because you are buying a home for the first time doesn't mean you need to opt for this type of loan. Most of these loans come with restrictions as well as strings attached. While these loans are perfect for some, they are a bad choice for most others.
