In other words, I can see microorganisms floating in my eye at certain times such as when the light hits my eye in a certain way, or when I get that snotty film in across my retina. Is this common to others?

  1. Floaters are completely normal especially in glare and are nothing to be worried about. However, if they are accompanied by flashing lights you should see your Optometrist/Ophthalmologist asap.

  2. Yes they are normal but you have to be careful with how "normal" they are... I never saw flashes of light, no head trauma, just "normal" floaties and bam! next eye exam my retina was detached... (it was going from the bottom up which is why I had no change in vision) Talk with your Doc about it- and just pay attention if the amount increases... but it is very common

  3. it is called floaters, i have had them for a long time,my mother did also.i don't think you can get rid of them.i ignore them.

  4. this is more common than you think. they are called floaties, it is caused by tiny blood or other particles left at the back of your retina. i believe if it is severe, you can have laser treatment. see your doctor.
