Is it unhealthy for pidgeons to eat the food people give them?

Bread is not good for any bird as it has yeast in it which can grow in their moist crops. Especially in young birds. Pigeons eat seeds of all kinds and love safflower seeds. They love raw peanuts and black oil sunflower seeds. CAn offer some cooked rice, and some cracker crumbs for treat. They also need grit to break down the seed they eat. As far as the person that mentioned poison in their food shame on you for even being on this site.
